ジョニー・アダムスといえば1972年の大ヒット曲「salt of the earth」が有名だが、この曲のカヴァーも「salt of the earth」に続いて1972年に大ヒットした。70年代から90年代まで、この曲のレゲエ・カヴァーは数多くあった。最も有名なカヴァーはテクニークス、タムリンズ、アルトン・ブラックなど。

「I Wish It Would Rain 「は、テンプテーションズが1967年にモータウン・レーベル（」ゴーディ "名義）で録音した曲で、ノーマン・ホイットフィールドがプロデュースした。歌詞はモータウンのスタッフ・ライター、ロジャー・ペンザベーンによって書かれた。

Johnny Adams is most famous for his 1972 blockbuster song "salt of the earth," but this song cover was also huge hit in 1972 following salt of the earth. There were many of reggae covers of this song in the 70s up to the 90's. Most famous covers were The Techniques, The Tamlins and Alton Black.

"I Wish It Would Rain" is a 1967 song recorded by the Temptations for the Motown label (under the "Gordy" imprint) and produced by Norman Whitfield. The lyrics of this mournful song about a heartbroken man whose woman had just left him were penned by Motown staff writer Roger Penzabene.
